Due to continued expansion in the UK, GlobalStep is looking for a Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer/ Architect in Azure. You will play a pivotal role in leading Azure cloud initiatives while transforming our client’s technology into a modern, microservices-based architecture. You will be part of a growing technical team providing IT services to our global customer base.
Responsibilities to include:
• Lead Azure cloud transformation projects within the Insurance Services Sector, aligning solutions with client’s unique business objectives.
• Architect customised, cost-efficient Azure solutions that emphasise scalability and industry best practices.
• Drive migration and modernisation efforts to enable digital transformation while ensuring data security and up time.
• Assess and mitigate risks related to third-party platforms to safeguard project success.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement, using Azure to digitise tasks and enhance operational efficiency.
• Collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders, translating project requirements into successful cloud applications.
Essential experience:
• Demonstrated proficiency in Azure cloud services, including Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Functions.
• Proven experience in Infrastructure as Code (IAC) methodologies and tools, particularly with Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates and Azure Bicep.
• Extensive background in planning and executing complex cloud migrations, including lift-and-shift, re-platforming, and refactoring strategies on Azure.
• Adept in designing and implementing cloud-native solutions on Azure, leveraging services like Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and Azure Functions.
• Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IAC) toolchains, utilizing tools such as ADO, Terraform, Helm, and Ansible.
• Proficiency in containerization technologies like Docker and container orchestration with Kubernetes, particularly on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
• In-depth knowledge of Azure Identity and Access Management (IAM) and Azure Security Center to design and implement robust security and identity solutions.
• Familiarity with other advanced Azure services, such as Azure Virtual Desktop (VDI) and Azure Sentinel, to provide comprehensive solutions to clients.
• Experience with Azure DevOps services, including Azure Boards, Azure Repos, Azure Pipelines, and Azure Test Plans.
• Strong skills in producing high-quality technical documentation, ensuring clear communication of technical concepts to stakeholders.
